It's early, it's freezing, the coffee hut is closed, and seven-year-old Chloe would like to know what happens to a body when it falls from a cliff.
A Particularly Grim Morning is a darkly comic short about a mother and daughter's early-morning walk along the English coast. As seven-year-old Chloe's fascination with death grows increasingly specific, her exhausted mother finds herself drawn into the conversation—and gradually back towards her daughter.
The film explores the strange candour of children, the anxieties adults project onto them, and the intimacy that can emerge from talking about the things we're usually reluctant to discuss.
